Ballots will be mailed 45 days before the convention (September 2nd) to active members 18 and over and can be mailed back no less than one week before the convention (October 10th).

Ballots can also be submitted in person to the ballot box at the convention no later than Saturday October 17th at 10:00am

Association Award Nominations

Every Year TFHA Board of Directors awards Trapper of the Year, Junior Trapper of the Year, Director of the Year, Educator of the Year, Benefactor of the Year, Buck Ingram Award to a person that fits criteria described below.

TRAPPER OF THE YEAR: an individual whose efforts have benefitted the TFHA. examples includes someone who has worked hard on a project that benefited all trappers in Tennessee or Nationally or who has worked hard to promote TFHA throughout the year. This can be done by manning booths during organization events.

DIRECTOR OF THE YEAR: a TFHA director that promotes the TFHA within their respective region and builds or strengthens the bond between the affiliate and the TFHA. The director fulfills the criteria of this award by communicating to the affiliate what the TFHA is doing and makes sure that the TFHA is aware of their affiliates’ concerns and opinions. The director also helps organize and sets up events in his regions and in other part of the state.

BENEFACTOR AWARD:  This award is generally presented for financial and/or promotional support of the TFHA.  Over the past several years this award has been presented to individuals and vendors involved with TFHA events.

LADY FUR HARVESTER:  typically presented to a woman individual whose efforts have benefited the TFHA.  Examples of this include someone who had worked during TFHA events to man kitchen, booth or help with activities.  Or possibly someone who has worked to promote the Tennessee Fur Harvester Association.

JUNIOR TRAPPER OF THE YEAR: typically presented to has taken a deep interest in the activities of the Tennessee Fur harvester association.  Examples of this include someone who had worked during TFHA events to help in the kitchen, help set up booth or help with other activities.  Or possibly someone who has worked hard and has shown exceptional skill, knowledge ad ethic in trapping. This award is part of a broader effort to encourage responsible wildlife management and conservation among the next generation.

BUCK INGRAM AWARD:  This award honors reliability, loyalty, and consistent participation to the district #5 meeting.

EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR: an individual who exemplifies excellence in teaching, mentorship, and educational leadership. This person demonstrates exceptional dedication to student growth, innovative instructional practices, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

HALL OF FAME AWARD:  An honor awarded to an individual who has made a lasting and exceptional contribution to the trapping community through decades of dedication, leadership, mentorship, and promotion of ethical and sustainable trapping practices. This award recognizes a lifetime of service, skill, and commitment to the advancement and preservation of the trapping tradition.
